What's next? We wait till April or is there some voting process?

Overall, looks like a decision in late June.

It should not take months to implement this process. Remember, they leased building spaces as well hired employees. It was suppose to start a day after Hanen block.

Perhaps, they will start on August 1st.

We might just have the EAD before 2016 ends. Huge win for Democrats. Hillary will win and Democrats will take the congress majority. I expect CIR/Dream Act passage in early 2017.

Yup, I know what you mean. Its even harder to feel optimistic when its our own lives on the line. Lets stay positive, everything with how this thing is unfolding hints at this being upheld. From the SCOTUS refusing to give Texas extra time they had requested to respond and down to this last minute revelation that they will take the case. I refuse to believe all this was for Nothing -- lol.

As do I. We're finally getting our day in court.

If your parents qualify or if you qualify, get your stuff together. As soon as we can apply, there's going to be a rush.

SCOTUS added a new wrinkle to the case which is not good news: http://www.npr.org/2016/01/19/463622...on-immigration

Quote:
But there is no assurance of how the court will rule. Indeed, the justices broadened the scope of the case, asking the two sides to address an additional, and fundamental question: whether the president's action violates the Constitution's requirement that the president "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed."

The addition of that question is seen as "a good omen" by many conservatives, like Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice. "I think the adding of that question ... helps those of us that are concerned that the president overreached here," Sekulow said.

He is filing a brief opposing the president's action on behalf of 88 congressmen and 25 senators, including the two Texas senators, Ted Cruz and John Cornyn. Dozens of other groups, on both sides, are expected to weigh in.

I feel like it's the "old switcheroo" type of requirement. Conservatives fail to realize that puts the ball in their court since they have to prove that Obama violated the constitution. Obama's defense here would be that authorizing employment of various groups has been done via regulation for a while, and the law authorizes the Secretary of Homeland Security (formerly Attorney General) to authorize employment.

I expect a 5-4 decision in our favor. Kennedy will likely be a swing vote, unless one of the conservatives (hopefully Scalia) drops dead by then.

Here's to hoping you are right on both.

Considering he's deported almost 2 million people, how are they going to prove that he failed to faithfully execute the laws?

for us DACAers if this goes in DAPA/eDACA favor, then nothing to worry about, and if it doesn't, it should get interesting
