So a little update. My case says that it has been approved and USCIS will mail proof. I sent it on 3/24/16 and did biometrics on 4/23/16. My expiration is on the dreaded 8/18/16.

To the guy/gal that got a nasty attitude from a USCIS agent; next time you call AFTER you are approved, tell the agent who answers your call that you would like to get the name of the agent that answered your call today and make a complaint against such agent. All calls are recorded but they are not reviewed unless there is a complaint against a particular agent. What he did was nothing but unprofessional and goes against the ethical rules that USCIS agents are governed under.

Besides that, the reason that people with applications from March to May (and even a few people who applied on February) are getting so delayed is due a system failure that corrupted a big block of applications. At this point they are trying to recover the data that was corrupted instead of telling those people to resend applications because there is simply no procedure to deal with this problem. Hopefully in the near future there is going to be scheme and procedures to deal with problems like this. That is all.

May I ask how did you find out about the corrupted data problem?

No you may not unless you want me to lose my job, which is ironic given the circumstances.

Odd. Some people from this block are still being approved, so if this is accurate, they're recovering applications. Mine was accepted around the 10th/11th, just a few days before the end of the block.

And also, do they just toss the paper applications without a paper trail? There must be some sort of procedure in place for something almost predictable as this.

That is the whole point. That's why the rate of approval for that particular block is being so slow. There is always a paper trail but there is no procedure in place for this event since it had never happened before.

Mine was also received around the same time. But when you go to the Elis account you can see all scan forms and all the papers I send.

lol only thing that happened they wanted to cut corners by not hiring the right person or firm to create a software that was easy to use. I'm pretty sure all of our paper applications were scanned couple days after they were received because i can also see all my documents that i have sent. This is what happened when you are considered low priority... i really don't care about their excuses after excuses, i have heard 10 million already and technology suppose to make things easier not difficult. Just integrate the two system they have and problem solved, no one can convince me they aren't capable of doing that, they just don't care and too much politics.
