Article is from March 13, 2015 regarding ELIS System and processing times:

"An online system that was supposed to automate the processing of green cards and other immigration benefits has struggled to function properly since at least 2009.

The electronic system's persistent challenges "Are going to create more risks as far as the ability of the system to keep up-but more importantly for the business process to keep up and still be safe for the country.

But it doesn’t seem to be offering anyone much help right now. ELIS was not equipped for the expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program when USCIS began accepting applications in February 2015.

He laments the state of the system five years later: "It looks like ELIS is typical of many of the federal government's computer systems. It's never lived up to the expectations to allow executive branch employees to be more efficient and effective for the American taxpayers."

God damn government funded bullshit projects .... why can't they hire real Software Engineers by increasing their pay and benefits to match that of companies that steal talent.

The US gov is a total disaster when it comes to tech. I would not be surprised (and it is actually extremely likely, according to several Cyber Security experts) if Russia has already infiltrated every government system and is just sitting there data mining.

Hell, the NSA already collects all of our data, all Russia needs to do is infiltrate the NSA.

It's unfortunate that we as the applicants have to suffer due to mismanagement of funds and resources by USCIS. Not surprisingly, the government makes sure their security interests (NSA) are adequately prepared to handle large sums of data without compromising efficiency.
