It's good to know that we can see progress with the delayed applications.

I've been on unpaid leave from work since my expiration on 8/17 my DL also expried that day. I am trying not to stress. When it's out of our control, worrying about it won't really do us much good. We just make our calls to USCIS and push in the direction we can.

These are some things that have helped to keep me sane.

Suggestions
- I've created a vacation to do list of long standing things around the house I have not yet completed.
- We could take the time to learn a new skill, improve current skill, or set up a portfolio.
-Also I might take the time to do a few interviews in case my current company lets me go. Finding a job takes a few weeks, and you can also push out your start date to untill after your DACA arrives.

I am not trying to belittle your situation, some of us have real bills and serious obligations to meet. I am trying to encourage us to make the best of it.

Religious or not check out the Serenity Prayer:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

Fellow 8/17er here. I'm currently in med school, and I'm luckier than most 8/17ers here because I don't have a job that I can be fired from (expired license, yes)... and the administrators at my school is extremely sympathetic and understanding. So while it sucks that I can't drive, I count myself as the extremely lucky one.

I'm just so angry that all USCIS is doing is "*shrug* we'll get to you when we get to you" while people are losing jobs, careers, well-earned promotions, livelihoods, houses...

Hang in there, everyone. We all know how tough and resilient we are, having made it this far.

Been wanting to take a break for a while , but this is not how I imagined taking it. I'm a 9/4 expiry so shit can still happen this week but I still have to wait 2-3 weeks for the card to be produced. Considering other people expired much earlier, not in too bad of a shape.

Amen! It'll all work out; we just have to be patient.
Good thing your employer didn't go straight to termination. That's already a bright side.

I luckily have a few months' worth of expenses saved up, so financially, I'm not too worried.
If I run out of money before I get approved, I will go back to tutoring math for cash like I did during college.

In a way, this can be a great chance for me to really figure out where I want my career to go. I work as an accountant, but I love to cook and bake. Maybe this is the right time to start making money from the food I make for other people. Who knows?

I will eventually get approved. It's just a matter of time, and worrying about it isn't going to make USCIS move any faster. So.

I'm glad everyone here is so optimistic. We need some positive energy during this difficult time. I expire 9/4 as well. Been feeling extremely down. But, what can we do right?

Stay positive!

My work is putting me on a 90-day leave of absence.

Although I have enough to last me a few months, I just posted an ad on Craigslist for math tutoring. I'm going to keep making money through this unemployment if it kills me!

I used to tutor math in college also.

90 days is very generous. That's pretty cool.

Today I am fixing up resume and searching for jobs.

How will you find jobs w/o EAD?
