When Trump says he wants to deport criminals, he means something starkly different than Obama

According to two senior officials in the transition team, Trump’s advisors will seek to widen that net to include migrants who have been charged but not convicted, suspected gang members and drug dealers, and people charged with such immigration violations as illegal reentry and overstaying visas, as well as lower-level misdemeanors.

To boost the tallies, his advisors say, Trump will probably reinstate workplace raids to find those in the country illegally, to push illegal immigrants out of jobs and to send a signal across the borders to try to dissuade others from entering the country illegally or overstaying their visas.

Hard-line immigration advisors on Trump’s transition team also are drafting plans to dramatically increase prosecutions of illegal entry, an immigration violation that doesn’t always lead to deportation under current policy.
Trump transition team considers visa overstay and illegal re-entry into the US as crimes.

So Dreamers who are visa overstayers are considered to be deportable criminals by Trump administration too.

We were never charged. That's for people who were ordered deported because of overstaying their visa or illegal reentry and snuck back in.

I ain't guilty of nuffin.

It doesn't sound good. We're at his mercy. Good point JJ Glo though.

But there are a lot of DACA recipients who are visa overstayers or deportees who returned. They are the criminals that Trump's talking about.

And I don't think ICE agents will show any mercy to you if you happened to be stopped at the immigration check point anyway.

I know you are rooting for us to be deported but hopefully cooler heads prevail and it won't come to that. If you "sympathize" with dreamers as you claim do us a favor and stop posting all these negative Nancy articles and stop trying to convince people here that they are going to be targeted and deported. Please get a life!

At this point, everything is speculation, even the positive articles. I think it's important that we read both. It will allow us to see what our options are in the best and worst case scenarios.

We cannot allow ourselves to live in a vacuum where everything favor us because we honestly don't know. I know it hurts to read the worst possible scenarios but they are possible. People need to be ready for whatever is coming for us. Censorship does not help us. I welcome both negative and positive articles. The only thing I really know right now is that only Donald Trump knows our future.

By applying for DACA you basically admitted your illegal presence. Nice try

So, anyone else eating klonopin like they're mints. Really wish my shrink would just prescribe me a higher dose since we're looking at a President Trump.
