If this guy is appointed head of DHS we are royally screwed. He's the meanest of them all when it comes to immigration. I hope there are enough compassionate republicans in the senate to oppose his appointment .

Quote:
campaign advisers told him Friday that “a decision about Kobach would be imminent.”
Barker said that he does not know what specific role Kobach could be up for, but said that he expects it will be related to immigration, the issue which Kobach advised Trump on throughout the campaign.

Looks like he is going to get the DHS job. If he is in charge, there will be no hope for DACA, our EAD won't even last til expiration.

This is fucking nightmare!

Next thing we know they will not even allow us to adjust by marrying a USC.

LOL, Kris Kobach is going to tank any chance Trump and Republicans have of garnering good will from Latinos.

But maybe they just don't care, I mean they did win the presidency on the back of racism and xenophobia.

If Kris gets the DHS position, then I wouldn't be surprised if he pushes an agenda to mass deport DACA beneficiaries, let alone all undocumented individuals in the country...the guy is nuts...

If Kobach becomes DHS secretary, all my questions will be answered and I will be completely disappointed in Donald Trump. There is no way forward with him as DHS secretary and immigrants. We can't coexist. Either one will snap eventually. It's just a matter of time. I mean this would be a failure of epic proportions and it would totally tank Trump's popularity and support from all minorities. In fact I would seriously raise my personal deportation risk level up a notch and start making some back up plans as idiotic as that sounds.

Would Obama's pardon protect us from this moron if it hypothetically happened?

This could be a really stupid question.

It just doesn't seem to be that easy since there is no law backing us up. Goes to show what a bold move Obama made in 2012. This could simply get reversed. I've been holding to the thought that it won't easily be cancelled by the incoming president-elect but honestly if he is thinking to appoint Kobach as DHS head, I could totally be wrong about the real-estate tycoon on whom I have had so much hope ever since he won.

You have to define meanest. Maybe he will make sure no more illegals will get in, secure the border, and prosecute those who overstayed their visa. It doesn't mean necessarily mean he will deport us if he wants to enforce that. Think about it? He needs us who are always here.

There is no pardon. We all have agreed no pardon will happen.
