I don't try to disagree with everything. I stand up to what I believe in.

Thing Eva has said I agree and I tell her. Things Swim has said I agree and I tell her.

Dreamer##### explained something to me and I learned from it.

I am the victim here, I say something and people attack me. I need to defend myself.

Also there is no reason to swear at me. I did not swear at you.

Y'all leave Crilly alone. We may disagree on some issues but he is still a fellow dreamer. He has been very positive and optimistic which can be refreshing at times. Let's respectful agree to disagree.

Bigotry. Obama was a great president having to deal with the republicans blocking him at every turn. The democrats lost because they were too confident that racism was a thing of the past. They did not attack trump as harshly as a republican went after Clinton for the smallest slights. Republicans are the party of the white older male. That comes with a certain privilege. Donald trump got away with things that would have ended Clinton or obamas campaigns.
I think this is more than one issue, racism. Look at two states he won, Michigan and Wisconsin. Two states that have voted Democrat since Bill Clinton won. Those states also voted for Barak Obama twice.

Donald Trump is a salesman and deals with persuasion and not facts. People vote ( and buy ) with their gut, not with their brains. He, like a good salesman, preyed on our unconscious biases.

I agree that the Democrats were overconfident. They were overconfident just like Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz and all the others that Trump was a joke. They did not see a snake oil salesman coming.

He won the states by razor thin margins. I also believe voter apathy and voter suppression were factors. In North Carolina early voting was shortened and polling sites were closed on colleges campus and minority's communities. Tough voter ID laws in some states also did not help. The voter apathy came from the primaries after Clinton endured the furry of sanders and his supporters. They refused to vote for a candidate that more closely mirrored their ideology and instead ended up with someone that was everything sanders refuted. Young people really helped throw this election to trump as well as those third party candidates.

Immigration law sucks.

Totally agree with you.

Voter suppression and apathy did tips the scales. I was just pointing out that there was more than just one reason, just as you pointed out.

I was a Bernie supporter myself, and ended up voting for Hillary, but I was not enthusiastic about it. I felt he had been cheated. I almost voted third party.

I bet a lot of people that voted third party regret their decisions now. Seeing all those people he appointed to cabinet positions and a climate change denier heading the EPA. I just read a article on Obama protecting artic waters from offshore drilling with a law that passed in the 50's. It was a great read. I hope people eventually realize that Hillary would have been a far better president than trump.

Everyone was too confident that Hillary was going to win, so they were making a "protest" vote. In a few states, his margin of victory was less than the third party vote. I thought she was going to win by a large margin too.

Trump seems to be putting people in cabinet positions who hate their department. Rick Perry as the head of the department he said he wanted to get rid of four years ago? It is like he is trying to destroy America from the inside.
