Not entirely true. Now you just have to prove that the relationship is real. I'm assuming that once you're married if you already weren't living together you would move in together. Marriage Length isn't the only proof to show its legit. Show them your lease or home ownership papers with both names, pctures of the wedding, any documents that show your relationship isn't new such as travel pictures with the both of you , pictures of you and your friends and family. The more the better. Remember, USCIS removed the waiting period for applying for AOS to be able to apply ASAP if wanted.

^Correct, which is why I said it would not be enough with what was quoted.

Hi all,

I had my interview today and it went OK. I put together a packet of stuff they did not even look through and just asked random questions to establish the timeline of our relationship.

The officer was quite hung up on why we didn't have a big wedding or invite anyone to dinner or anything. We talked about it some and then he stepped out to make "copies." He was out for like 10 mins and my husband saw him go into the supervisor's office. We think they were discussing our wedding day.

He came back and said that "inclined to approve the application" though he was still iffy about the wedding day. We talked some more then he said he was going to approve me.

I got approved for a conditional green card.

We left and went to eat. When we were eating, he called to say that he had approved it too quickly without realizing that I had not had my fingerprints. He said that his supervisor pointed out that one of the letters that got returned by the post office was a fingerprint appointment letter. He said he was sorry for his oversight but that I needed to go. After that, he would review the results and give a "final approval."

I said OK sure.

But of course it leaves me uneasy. Is it possible they are "taking back" the approval? If so wouldn't they just tell me instead of pretending it's because I missed a step?

Also, during the interview, we told him about us not getting all the mail. He said that was weird and that he "saw no evidence" of mail being undelivered in the file. So i just find it odd that they suddenly found that letter.

I guess I'm just worried they changed their minds.

My husband says it's just an oversight like he said.

Ack!

Any thoughts?

It's just an oversight. Once you get the fingerprints done you will be approved.

Sounds like an oversight. Hopefully everything gets cleared out soon.

Thanks for the positive input. I hope you guys are right!

And no, I did not have an attorney. My brother prepared the documents for me. He is a legal assistant.

He told me to not worry because they cannot rescind the case unless they found something that disqualifies me. But naturally I am still worried.

Today I noticed the guy typed my last name wrong on the approval letter he gave me. He also CCed some attorney who I don't know. My brother said to wait for the biometrics to see my name.

How annoying!!!
