Yeah but Steve Bannon from Breitbart is a freaking adviser in Trumps White House and he keeps whispering in Trumps ear to cancel DACA. Evil man Bannon.

What I got to say about Steve King, well, he is a politician, and if he wasn't playing the role he is playing, someone else will take over, for example, before it was Tom Tandredo, the he passed the ball to Lamar Smith, then it was Michele Bachmann for a while, then it was the ball to Steve king, if it's not him, someone else will take over the role, you see the big picture, it seems there will always be someone playing that role.

Though it is good to see that Paul Ryan has a positive outlook, and John Corning, these are good signs. Trump winning the election might have been a blessing in disguise, you see - a democrat (speacially a weak democrat as Clinton was perceived) would probably create gridlock in Washington and we would have had more of the same. That is why we needed someone to shake the establishment.

As you know, I was the first DREAMER to endorse Donal Trump back in the primary ( http://dreamact.info/forum/showthread.php?t=73188 )

It was obviously a very risky pick, but you we didn't have a lot to pick from.

Although I disapprove of many of the things Trump said during the primary, you gotta understand he was pandering to the base, and that is the only way he was able to galvanize the vote. Politics are involved, so not everything is what it seems.

[quote=2Face;598994].....We have SOME SORT of relief, I don't care what type it is coming. There will be a CIR bill coming this first term. I just know it based on my experience following this ever since I was 12 years old.

Hahaha.. your adorable.
This forum is becoming more entertaining then informative.

The wild, desperate, wide-eyed speculation, especially of those who are trying to save-face, at length, becomes almost curiously touching.

As I mentioned before here (in explaining this to you before):
http://dreamact.info/forum/showthread.php?t=75476

Any positive legislation beyond addressing the populations affected by DACA is no longer in the cards. Durbin, Louis, Klobuchar, in short all the champions for immigration reform or anyone else from the Democratic caucus for that matter are not talking about CIR - their desperately trying to protect DACA. Trump never mentioned CIR. Republicans are talking, but exclusively enforcement and deportation - nothing can be further or more inconceivable from their minds than CIR.

Their isn't world enough or time to write more, will just quote a aid close to Trump on his 'character' or habits you pretend to divine so well.

"One person who frequently talks to Trump said aides have to push back privately against his worst impulses in the White House, like the news conference idea, and have to control information that may infuriate him. He gets bored and likes to watch TV, this person said, so it is important to minimize that."

As I said, the only thing we can hope for is something approximating to DACA, but perhaps less generous. Your family, community, etc. Well, their all fucked. Elections have consequences.

Which is why I never understood Dreamers supporting Trump during the general election. It was both counter-factual and against their own inherent self-interest.

A Clinton victory would mean 5-4 Supreme Court, which would have resulted in DAPA, in addition to the guarantee of DACA, and its possible expansion. If you believe that a Republican controlled Congress, with or without Trump, would give you more, you werent paying attention the last 8 years.

All you will get with Trump is DACA (at best) and uncertainty. Your parents and all the rest -- well, their f---ked.

You can't always have everything in life.

Be thankful DACA might result in PR in near future.

Huh?
What exactly does that have to do with anything?

I don't see the logical connection between pointing out the factual alternatives as they were presented at the time, as a point of historical debate, to taking the present political realities for granted.

I don't. Trump is the President - we adjust according. But nor do I habour any delusions (or Stockholm syndrome-like optimism) of what is to follow as a consequence, which is precisely what I am reading and pointing out too in this thread.

None of it is grounded in fact or precedence.
