Well technically the reporter asked about DAPA, but I'm not convinced they know the difference. And Spicer's comment was the same as the last time he was asked.

I think the response hinted at them sort of repealing it but not really. My prediction is that it will be repealed but congress will need to push out something quick.

Did anything come up in Kelly's testimony today about DACA?

Trump will cancel DACA and "urge" Congress to pass a bill. No way he can go back on his promise of cancelling DACA.

Best chance scenario is that he will, repeal, making it no longer an option to apply for the first time.

Next, he will work with congress to come up with a bill but no repeal for people who have it now.

That is our best case scenario tbh...

Halting new applicants while allowing for renewals would technically fulfill his promise of "ending" DACA. Their main argument against DACA is that it is a magnet for people to smuggle new children in every day. Well, if you can say that DACA is over and no new applicants are being accepted, then there is no reason for people to smuggle in new kids so according to their own logic the magnet would be off.

Their logic is off, because no newcomers even qualify. These people cannot read..

Several people involved in the current process say the administration wants to be more careful and felt stung by the criticism, even if their signing was cheered by Trump’s supporters. Chief of Staff Reince Priebus has lately gotten far more involved in the process, one person familiar with it said. He has implemented a multi-step process to approving the orders, according to a White House official.

At least we know Preibus is going to be involved in future executive orders. In the article no mention of daca
