You guys are also not considering the fact that in 2009 when Obama took office, the country was in a major economic downturn, with some major organizations on the brink of defaulting.

The ACA wasn't even the plan Obama envisioned, it was a compromise with republicans who are now holding it against him. If Obama's plan would've gone through, a lot more people would be happy and they would've voted democrat as well.

And lets not forget the republicans' rampant use of filibusters and cloture votes during his administration. Sure democrats can sometimes be ineffective, they are politicians after all, but to suggest that they did nothing and we are at this point because of them is ridiculous.

Also, Obama was trying to be bipartisan to heal the nation. Trump and Republicans have never tried to be bipartisan. It is always their way or the highway. We need some of that in the new democratic leadership, though.
