Do not worry!

Just obviously stay out of trouble.

These statements are without fact. ICE might possibly detain someone with such history. It is not easy to get detained by ICE. Work on minimizing your risk of an encounter. Even if by really bad luck it happens. You should be fine.

The statement is meant to be political. ICE is brutal, and that is a fact. It depends on the agent, they way you look, etc.. Even what you are wearing.

What you need to do is to minimize any contact with law enforcement. Pretend you are in the shadows, pretend you are driving without a license.

I my 10 years of driving I had one encounter with the police and I did not have a DL. I am sure it could happen again, but we have DLs now.

It is hard enough for me to encounter a cop, let alone ICE.

Even if you ever encounter ICE, chances are you will be released. Also, I can guarantee you, that you will not be the first person to have such offense that will get apprehended. When it happens, and the person gets deported, then you can be sure about. No need to worry right now. Chances are such person would be released as well.

Yes, that's what I got from that statement that people with no offenses that include traffic tickets or perveived gang affiliation are exempt. the 2nd question is murkier, "perceived'... who decides this perception?

I don't have any traffic offenses. I was just clarifying what I thought the statement implied. So, if you have daca and have a traffic offense, you should be fine . Obviously we are all human and can get these offenses .

If you read the article, his DACA expired. He was caught with drugs. It is a misdemeanor, he is not a threat to public safety. I expect him to be released to be honest.

He was probably detained because ICE agents are assholes and they want to push the boundaries. I hope he gets released.

This is the kind of shit that needs to get out so that other idiots do not commit these mistakes.

I edited my response to include this:

Damn. Don't even think about smoking anything but clean air my fellow kids, ESPECIALLY if you live outside of WA, OR, CA, NV, CO, AK, MA, or ME.

And while we are at it, drink nothing but water. Can't take no chances under these scrutinizing Trump times.

Looks like I need to stop drinking all that Jameson Whiskey, then. Nothing but water from now on. It's cool, I've been meaning to lose weight.
