I don't get it, why do you want to work a d drive legally while not even being a citizen? You can do all of that in pretty much any other country of the world, why even bother fighting to stay here?

Are we having this conversation? In what other countries do illegal immigrants ( which we are) get to drive and work legally? If it wasn't for DACA we wouldn't be able to do any of that . What is this obsession over citizenship? I'll just be content with legal permanent residency.

All we want ? Who's this we ?

So you're fine with just being apart of daca forever ? Will most of us have dreamers back home in other countries who we can't see , we can't travel. We run the risk of any little crime we automatically lose all our privileges .
I've actually wanted to always join the military and I can't do that with daca . I want to fight for your right to be able to make dumb posts like this
I want to be able to give my opinions on who is gonna governor me and who my next president will be by being able to vote .
I want to be able to never have to worry about being removed from a country I've been apart of my whole life

So you need to stop making it seem like everything is all dandy and all of us will be fine with just a work permit that can expire and revoked at any time a president feels like it

If you don't ask you wont get anything. Have you ever sold a car?

What do you normally do, ask for the price that you want or increase it a bit expecting low balles?

This is what happening here, we know we wont get citizenship but doesn't asking for it is completely out of the question. Republicans are selling the car, and democrats are low balling it (well, in the sense that low price is citizenship and high price is nothing) This is why we hear democrats saying "CITIZENSHIP FOR ALL!!" because they know Republicans will never do this but they know from experience, there is always a compromise and always a middle ground they both will agree. Republicans hold the majority here, so mostly democrats will take whatever Republicans agree on.

Its been a pattern now for a whole and it has reverse and unreverse itself multiple times

think about DACA, when DACA was announce 2012, republicans were furious about it. They did NOT like this (maybe they did but they didnt the fact a Democrat president and Obama at that who did it)

So democrats intro a CIR in 2013, many republicans still that version as an flat amnesty. So democrats compromise okay fine no citizenship, how about a long long way towards it? Republicans then said okay but lets do it our way and the house made their own CIR (which never went to vote)

Now, it has reverse, Republicans are backing up this RACA which really is a good deal for us, but Democrats want more. If Republicans are willing to offer us a path for legalization 5 years after 6 years of CLPR then maybe they will be willing to do something similar for the rest.

So what do they do? Demand flat out for citizenship, they know Republicans will never give them that BUT they know they will at least meet them half way.

lt;dr if you don't ask, you won't get it. The very worse thing at this point is them leaving DACA alone. Alone being they don't expand it but they don't terminate it

If that's all you want to do, why not do it in your home country? You can work and drive legally and vote and even travel abroad in your home country because you're a citizen there. It blows my mind that a person can live in a country for 10 or 20 years and not want to be a citizen there. I arrived here 13.5 years ago and I'm still only 21, yet I already feel like I wouldn't make it to 30 without being recognized as a citizen of this country. It's just so depressing that you would settle for a goddamn work permit that could be revoked when some idiot pleases.

You do realize 8 out of the 9 original Co-Sponsors for RACA are also original Co-Sponsors of the ENLIST Act? And 5 of them are also Original Co-Sponsors of the Bridge Act. Denham has been trying to pass Enlist Act for many years and now it has a lot of support. Sure it's not for everyone but I see it as a positive first step and if Enlist Act can pass RAC Act has a better chance of passing. At least republicans are trying to pass some bills that would provide us relief
