Guys I need some advice.

I was going to apply for DACA for the first time this Wednesday, July 5th with an immigration lawyer. However, this news broke out and now I don't know what to do.

My heart is telling me to still apply, with the hopes that with the info of those that applied, some law will pass through Congress that allows those to remain in the US. I feel that it's now or never - and I want to apply NOW.

I am 19 years old and just received my associates degree in engineering with honors, and no criminal record. I feel that I should take the risk since I hope that I won't be a priority for deportation, but with this administration you never know.

What should I do?

It sounds odd and dangerous but I would rather have USCIS at least receive my application have it in their DACA application pool then to not do anything at all.

What's your advice?

It won't be canceled outright. The group is asking Trump to phase the program out meaning that the President will set a date where they won't be accepting new applicants. People who applied before that date will still be processed and given two years of DACA.

Seems like a no brainer...Do it! If they do cancel the program, you will likely have one of the last ones ever handed out and yours will expire last essentially. By then, the mid-term election will come and gone so the atmosphere might be a little different. Use this time to gather up IDs, save money, etc.

Definitely apply! I don't think they will cancel DACaA and if they do, with your degree you can go anywhere in the world. Don't be scared you have not done anything wrong be proud to contribute to the country. Nothing to fear my friend.
