If our national policy is to defer deportation of childhood arrivals, then Congress should change the law to reflect that. It should not be done through an administrative memorandum.

“As to why Governor Otter was the only governor among the ten states involved in the case to sign the letter, the better question might be why the governors of the other states did not.”

Wasden issued this statement:

“This is part of my office’s ongoing efforts to encourage the federal government to respect the separation of powers. These directives were the equivalent of legislating by executive order. My signature on this letter is not about targeting immigrant families. Rather, it is consistent with my objection to legislative executive orders as well as encouragement to Congress to fulfill its constitutional responsibility and address these pressing issues.”

Even though this is bullshit , it does really bring us to a point where each party will have to show us their cards. Are democrats going to refuse to compromise and not cut a deal with republicans to save us dreamers from going back into the shadows again? To be honest I like that ultimatum these racist states are giving to the president and congress.

I can see how the efforts by the racist states reflect an ultimatum on the new administration. The issue: If congress and Trump cannot ratify a solution for some unknown reason and these states prevail in their legal endeavors, we are screwed.

At the moment, all I can say is Fuck You Governor. Go Bullshit someone else. You could have pressured congress to take action in other ways rather than worry the fuck out of all of us by signing on to this racist effort to rescind DACA. Fuck you.

They are such hypocrites. What about all the executive orders Trump has signed, are those not under the same category?

I think the Muslim Travel Ban (that's what it is) hearing at the Supreme Court is going to be interesting. If the SCOTUS says that he has the right to ban them then it also means that he has the power to have deferred action. Neither side gets to have it both ways.

Yeah, that is exactly right. I believe that deferred action falls Ina very fine line of to be or not to be kind of situation.

I hope Sessions can keep going on Fox news maybe he will say something stupid that will.contradict him in court.

I sure hope so. Because it's unconstitutional only because Obama did it. Well then guess what? All of Trump's EOs are unconstitutional/executive overreach as well.

Yep, in 2020 you will see a bunch of lawsuits or reversals on those EOs.
