I was going to apply for DACA for the first time this Wednesday, July 5th with an immigration lawyer. However, this news broke out and now I don't know what to do.

My heart is telling me to still apply, with the hopes that with the info of those that applied, some law will pass through Congress that allows those to remain in the US. I feel that it's now or never - and I want to apply NOW.

I am 19 years old and just received my associates degree in engineering with honors, and no criminal record. I feel that I should take the risk since I hope that I won't be a priority for deportation, but with this administration you never know.

What should I do?

It sounds odd and dangerous but I would rather have USCIS at least receive my application have it in their DACA application pool then to not do anything at all.

What's your advice?
Apply ASAP. Never hurts to try.

Yes, I would definitely apply. Nobody knows what going to happen. It's better to try your chances. Good luck!

Don't listen to the hype, just go ahead and apply like a normal person.

The same people here making all this hype about DACA ending are the same people that did it back in January 2017, and November 2016.

People don't learn.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'm an engineer myself.

Apply for it anyways.

Thanks. I was thinking it was all hype myself, but I feel that for some reason the Republicans will succeed and DACA will be halted. I will still apply on Wednesday and hopefully everything turns out alright.

Thanks!

Well this is the moment, I know many here don't like to hear the words BRIDGE Act, but it is the only piece of legislation right now that has a good chance of passing both chambers of congress to save us in the short term and that Trump would be willing to sign. It has already been introduced in both the senate and house since January 12, hence once again WE ALL KNEW THE LIKELIHOOD OF DACA ENDING WAS VERY HIGH.
I wouldn't say WE. I would say some thought of that. Others knew from the get go trump wasn't stupid enough to end DACA.

What I think will happen is the administration will stop accepting new applications. And only those with work permits will be allowed to renew. If you guys read the letter sent by the ten pieces of sh....t. AG's. It says to either cancel the program or stop accepting new people. Red between the lines.
