I just contacted Senator Durbin and Senator Harris, I urge everyone to do the same. Keep in mind, if DACA is taken away , our lives will be ruined. We are in huge danger of deportation. Our family will be tear apart .

They have been mightly quiet on DACA lately. I wonder if they are the ones negotiating with republicans and are all hush hush about it.

It'd be nice if that's the case. However, I must caution myself from raising false hopes and caught offguard.

after these news, my girlfriend and I decided to get married tomorrow. We're going to apply for my GC ASAP. Probably next week once we get the certificate.
My daca expires in January and I was about to send the renewal. Should I still apply for the renewal or just go through with the GC process and get my EAD that way?

I hope that's the case because Durbin's silence is toxic right now. We only got a pussified response from Gutierrez. "Prepare for the worst." Gee, very comforting Gutierrez; I know you can't do much. But, you can at least try to give a more uplifting statement that you will fight or raise money for probono attorneys. I don't know--something more uplifting.

I read his full statement and he did say to fight (he talked about people showing up to the airports for the travel ban and there should be similar efforts to stop deportation). I think he is genuinely worried, and whether he should have showed that or not by his statement is up for debate.
