I'm not saying all or nothing. If you go back far enough in these forums to around when DACA was first announced, a lot of people on here thought that CIR was coming and were saying that anything short of green cards for everybody(people who came here as adults, those "Permiso" kids flooding the borders, etc.) was not enough. A few were even going as far as saying that LGBT rights had to be attached to CIR or it was not enough. I was always on the side of getting what you can get when there is a chance for it and revisiting it later.

If something as good as RACA or other Dream Act like bill was on the table and it could pass, of course I'd say go for it. No such thing is on the table however. Saying something like "give us money to start the wall and after 3-4 years, we'll see what we can do about Dreamers" is not a good deal.

I remember the LGBTs wanting to derail CIR over that, despite the fact it was during the period after Obergerfell was argued and before the court handed the decision with all signs on heaven and earth pointing to a 5-4 in favor of same sex marriage which is what happened and suddenly they all vanished like a fart on the wind.

Even if not DOMA was struck down and they could've gotten married in New York or something and proceeded from there. Nope need that special treatment despite the fact that McCain would rather go back into his bamboo cage than support same sex marriage.

I think demise has made the assessment in another thread. From his point of view, getting married is the only option. No reform possible under this political climate.

We're fucked. It's not a question of if but a question of when.

Damn, coming from you, makes this scary lol. I agree, marriage route is best, but so far I have no luck with dating apps, and time is running short. I'm hoping we're at least allowed to expire, since I have till September next year, that gives me enough time to find an SO at least and maybe get something going. But it's gonna be hard to convince a girl to marry you in such a short time.

No other ideas, I was holding on hope at the idea of Bridge act. But from Luis G. Assessment, it looks like we are fucked along with hatians and other TPS folks. We will be put under the same priority for deportation as them, there is no other alternative.

As stated before, the deportation cases will be severely backlogged and delayed if that hapoens. You can even fight your case and there is a very small chance that you can initiate a cancellation of removal if you qualify for it and obtain a green card.

I still think there's a chance of BRIDGE Act (50% maybe?), but it's a band-aide that doesn't solve the problem.

I've had no luck with dating either (met some nice guys just broke up before marriage was on the table)...and my family petition is 4-5 years from now based on priority date.

I really hope I am wrong but with Sessions as the AG, Kelly the yes man as DHS secretary, and Trump as President things are looking grim. Either they'll just kill the program (or the states that threatened to sue will circuit shop and sue), or they'll hold us hostage for democratic cooperation without any hope of permanent status for us - then regardless of the outcome (they get their wall or not) we get shafted.
