Schumer said Senate Democrats will do everything they can to protect DACA.

“Dreamers seek to work, study, and contribute to their communities and represent the best of America,” Schumer said. “The Senate Democrats will fight tooth and nail to preserve this program and hold the president to his promise to maintain it.”

I'm not sure I saw this statement when this article was posted couple of days back.

the rhetoric is not enough, they need to reach across the aisle.

they just dont have to preserve the program, they need to work in a bipartisan manner to make it permanent.

I agree. Dems need to do more. This is like the traditional back and forth show of the past years.

Dems cant just sit back and demand whatever they want.

They cant do that anymore.

They need to start prioritising.

but all jokes aside, i know in my heart that we will be okay. sometimes i get discouraged with these articles that come out but i know a bipartisan majority supports us in the Congress. only a minority of the GOP want us gone like steve king, ted cruz, etc. but thats how it is, not everyone will like/support you 100% in life.

trump, paul ryan and mcconnell spoke in favor on the DACA issue... i just hope they do the right thing.

whatever happens, lets all enjoy and weather through this ride TOGETHER. you guys accomplished so much the last 5 yrs since DACAs inception, nobody can ever take thata way from you wherever you are in the world.

Hopefully they do intend to compromise, but we also need Republicans to compromise and not demand unreasonable, draconic anti-immigrant measures in exchange for BRIDGE or RACA.

True! Legislation and America, as a whole, moves forward when lawmakers and people compromise. I agree that we will not get out right citizenship. But maybe a permit for 5 years stay out of trouble then a GC plus E- Verify. That's workable.
