So the most honest answer about getting marry right now is because we want to start the AOS process early and also I want to claim her on my taxes this year and get her on my employer health insurance since she has no insurance right now.

On it being common, AOS takes around 4 months to just over a year. It should come as no shock that such a regulation would not be implemented smoothly. The procedure(AOS) takes a bit of time.

In fact, I would anticipate the same issues for the new I-485 form in August. It will likely result in more delays in the fall/winter as USCIS officers have to issue rejections because of the incorrect form.

I don't think so. Not that my lawyer was particularly expensive, but it turned out to be just paying someone else to fill out my forms, you know? They offered to be at the interview for an extra charge; I think other lawyers build that into their fee.

The only peace of mind it gave me was the fact that we had a pro check our documents and evidence for us prior to sending. We could have gotten the same peace of mind by extensively researching on our own.
