First of all come on 2009? What's next undocumented person getting deported has been in the U.S. since 2016. It's time to be realistic about our expectation of who to feel sorry for . I've been in this country since 1993 brought here when I was 5 years old. The 90s was a different time and yes I deserve to be here more then someone who came illegally at the age of 19 last year .

I say pass any enforcement measure stop legal and illegal. Immigration I don't care aslong as you fix the status of people already here in the United States and that have been here for generations!
I think it has to do with the Central American child refugee crisis in which children from those regions came to the US to apply for asylum at an accelerated rate. While some were granted ayslum, unfortunately, others that truly deserved it didn't.

And, I'd say your correct but I do feel sympathy towards the DREAMers that were too old for a relief. Enforcement to curb legal immigration? That would make petitioning relatives like parents difficult which sucks.

Are your parents not in the U.S already? I'm thinking for the most part all Dreamers exist because of a family effort at a better life .

Unless your here alone and maybe staying with an aunt and to that point why?

Parents outside of the country have survived and built a life . Of course everyone wants more but If your culture and way of life is from another country and you have survived happily then living in America is not a necessity it's a luxury.

We don't need to petition anyone outside the country just those who have built a life here and know no other way that's the humane thing to do .

I also have empathy for others but others do not for us ! Not the Cubans not the Jews , not the Europeans and not the Chinese . All of these family patitions benefit people who came here legally married U.S citizens and then patition parents . Where is the struggles or necessity. There isn't any!

Oh so because this doesn't directly affect you, it's not newsworthy? GTFO.

Nah, I do have parents who are fortunately undergoing to process of legalization but I'm referring to other Dreamers who have parents in the United States. If the RAISE Act passes then you can say goodbye to petitioning your parents here unless they're elderly/sick and they would only receive a renewable visa that will make them ineligible to work or do anything.

They came here in 2009. It is now 2017 so they've been here ~8 years. If the youngest is 19 now then he came here when he was ~11 and I do feel bad for him. I'm all with you about priority be given to those who have been here longer though... The 80's was a completely different time than the 90's. MTV still played music videos, 1986 amnesty had just happened so there was hope in the air...Depeche Mode was in their prime...good times.

Wtf? Those are generalizations, my brother. For instance, while most Cubans are known for their pretentious & arrogant attitude towards immigration, there are some that actually want to help us like Carlos Curbelo.

The Jews? Are you kidding me? All these immigration reforms like the one in 1965 and the DREAM Act have been supported by Jewish Advocacy groups like the AJC: Global Jewish Advocacy. Most of them supported Hillary Clinton as opposed to Donald Trump. They're the most prominent group when it comes to this issues.

As for the other groups, well there are many DREAMers from those regions and you can't just say that their origins somehow don't feel empathy for us.

I can't see the RAISE Act passing in its current form. There will be changes made to it and it will probably include relief for people who have been here a long time.

It will of course affect people who have their parents or relatives outside of the country

DACA require five years physical presence prior 2012, right?

Yes, I am aware of that, I was trying to imply that if this passes you can say goodbye to petitioning your parents that are in the United States unless they're elderly/sick.
