Bridge act is our only hope because Dems don't want to use us as a bargaining chip.

why "renew", it would be literally the same thing if he let everyone apply for daca once more not just current daca holders

just freaking add nationwide e-verify, border funding, additional ICE agents to DA/RAC.

Republicans be crazy asking too much for Dreamers just to be legalized, they want everything from lowering immigration levels to funding the wall.

The only thing I can think of that Trump will do is to definitely halt the program to new applicants and continue protecting current DACA recipients. I'd like for him to actually urge Congress to pass a law like Dream Act to permanently fix the problem.

Nationwide everfiy will not happen. The only republicans pushing for all that are extreme hardliners. We forget that most republicans are in the pocket of big business. Cheap labor is what they want. This border shit isn't even something most moderates want. But, I can see a compromise happening, and something passing if the bills are all put to a vote.

The problem is that Nancy Pelosi wants to legalize everyone all at once, which we know is something that is not going to happen. The GOP wants to do a piece meal immigration plan which makes more sense.

Didn't you guys read the article? For anything to happen, there needs to be a cross. The program will end and people will lapse, if your lucky to be expiring.several months from Tuesday then that's that.

If, by September 5, 2017, the Executive Branch agrees to rescind the June 15, 2012 DACA memorandum and not to renew or issue any new DACA or Expanded DACA permits in the future, then the plaintiffs that successfully challenged DAPA and Expanded DACA will voluntarily dismiss their lawsuit currently pending in the Southern District of Texas," he wrote. "Otherwise, the complaint in that case will be amended to challenge both the DACA program and the remaining Expanded DACA permits." it's not that hard to understand

Seems like the likely scenario will be:
Trump to end DACA. No new applicants. No renewals. Keep DACA status until they expire, but dreamers will have low priority for deportation even after their DACA status expires (aka. big heart"). No mass deportation.

As DACA slowly dies, maybe something will be worked on, like BRIDGE act (3 years of legal 'DACA', non renewalable).

It'll become a waiting game to see when something passes.

A lot of people may lose their jobs and go back to work in the shadows, similar to the gap experienced by many from the recent renewal delays, but not all ~800k will become jobless.

We'll still find a way to live our lives, just shitty and filled with fear.

We'll still pay taxes, economy won't suffer as badly as predicted.
