It's funny how some people say we are being used by the GOP as bargaining chips. If anything, I feel like I'm being used from the Democrats has a political ploy. Do they really want to fix the immigration issue or do they want to ride this out as much as they can for political points?

All I see from the Democrats so far is "I want, I want, but we won't give "
All I see from the GOP so far is "We will give and come to the table, but let's compromise"

I have read five immigration attnys on Twitter state the same. DO NOT allow Congress to resist pressure to fix this once and for all!!!

This goes for the traditional political shill organizations: NILC, AmericasVoice, UWD,etc. that instead of pressuring for the DreamAct want to keep the temporary status quo.

DreamActivist and ACLU are advocating for a DreamAct vote and that is the solution to this problem.

Mods: Can you pin or start a sticky thread with all the current DreamAct bills waiting for a vote? So that we can easily see the sponsor tally and floor activity?

You have to understand that the "Dreamers aren't bargaining chips" from Democrats was just a negotiating tactic sprinkled with politics. When push come to shove they'll come to the table and have our backs. What did Trump do when pressured from the AG's? He shoved us overboard

A negotiating tactic that's going to get them nowhere with the possibility of putting us a deportation risk. Now answer me this. Do you actually believe the GOP is going to sign into an amnesty for all bill? Because that's what the Democrats want right now. Their mentality is this or nothing, so please tell me what do you think the outcome will be?

Usually what you get is "We legalize you and for anyone who comes after 2017 , we deport your parents and family"

Someone will get hurt in a compromise, and it is always easiest to hurt someone who is not in the country. The "I got mine, screw the next person" mentality.

But I am a cynic

that seems to be where we are headed. its a good deal for the right. get 100%(or close) of raise and they just get the best of the immigrants that are available and never get to legalize millions they dont want and stick them with deportation notices.

Hard-working undocumented workers are producers for this country. They have survived hardship and endured; they are the best and is why they left their homelands with no guarantee of success and have built their lives here and raise families - you.

No need to criminalize them.

What is going to happen that ISN'T ALREADY HAPPENING. There are raids, and it is difficult as hell now to get a job without some form of work permit.

Stop fear mongering and exaggerating things man.
