It's pure numbers, which is why I've been advocating CIR. DA effects hundreds of thousands while tax reform, debt ceiling and even CIR affects hundreds of millions. We need to go for the big prize.

I don't really know what to feel anymore. This article and a few others paint a bleak picture for the DA. On the other hand, there are other articles that claim that victory will come our way by year's end. At this point, I think everyone's just guessing as to what will happen to us. I hope we'll get a clearer picture soon.

No, even Republicans know that Schumer and Pelosi hold the strings now.

Republicans will need Dem support because conservatives and freedom caucus DO NOT want a deficit increase WITHOUT cuts to other programs. Dems can withhold votes unless Republicans add DA as a rider. Republicans will need to incentives them to vote, Dems don't even have to shut the government down, Republicans will do it amongst themselves.

I'm with General Kelly and call bullshit on Democratic and Republican 'leadership'. There's a solution at hand that only needs to be put to a vote.

It doesn't cost money. It doesn't take more time. It does require Congress to do its job and exercise authority to solve this problem.

Pass the DreamAct.

Were people really expecting the DA to be approved in less than a week? This is something that both sides want to use to their advantage, so the negotiations will continue. Yes, the momentum may be starting to ebb but they haven't even gotten into the nitty gritty of this yet. Let's just hope tax cuts and disaster funding, doesn't suck all the oxygen tho
