We all know Trump does the opposite Obama says. If Obama comes to our defense, it might scare Trump into thinking he'd lose credit on helping getting Dream Act passed, and thinking Obama's word is what actually helped therefore Obama would be praised.

What narrative would they even have? They should of included us into the recent budget bill and not have us wait til December... but as usual they want to play politics and smear the Republicans by having them take No votes and stalling the Dream Act. Typical.
This is so silly to me. Give republicans their border security ( not wall) and we get the dream act . It seems so simple, but democrats are making it complicated. The White House is ready to deal and it's sad that the democrats are the ones playing political games with our lives.

They're not gonna pass a bill without getting some ammunition for 2018.

They're not the same. RACA has stricter guidelines for admissibility. RACA does not cover dreamers that were deported as kids and came back with their parents.

Obama et al. are aware of this fact, hence why he hasn't blasted Trump directly yet.

Good read about this exactly. To quote:

Obama can see just as well as everyone else that the most reliable predictor of what Trump will do as president is the opposite of what he said or did. He’s decided the best play is to not give Trump any more to play off of than his successor already has.

“We are mindful of the dynamic that we’re in — which is the risk of backlash is real, and so we don’t want to give this administration an excuse to do the wrong thing, and we also don’t want to give Congress an excuse to do nothing,” said an Obama adviser involved with the deliberations on Tuesday.

I appreciate Obama's support, but he couldn't pass anything for us when he had the leverage of being President. He needs to just sit back on this one. Schumer and Pelosi hold our lives in their hands right now.

Exactly, I feel Obama speaking out could be counterproductive. Luckily Obama is notorious for thinking long and hard before taking decisions, very levelheaded.
