If I am not mistaken, this bill also provides relief to the 300k or so that have TPS.

DREAMERs had no choice in coming here, and they can't even remember their home country: that's the main rationale behind the DREAM Act passing.

17 year olds had a choice when comming here, and they do remember their country of origin. The rationale applies less.

I'd be happy for fellow DREAMERs if the age restriction was changed, and the DREAM Act passed like that. However, it is riskier. I wouldn't say it's selfish though.

I do think moving here when you are 17 and a half is different than when you move here when you were 5 months old, 2 years, or even at age 10.
I agree. I’m gonna get hate for this but 15 and under seems like a more reasonable number if we actually want people to believe children were forced to come here. No one can force you to do anything at 17.

So please tell me, what's the "choice" difference between a 16 years 6 month old versus say a 17 year 0 month old?

Hopefully this doesn't become an issue since this would cover more than the original DACA recipients.

Both are pretty grown to me, that’s why daca was for under 16. There has to be a cut off date.

I can already see the opposing side using the argument that 17yos are already grown up by the time they get here and tbh I can understand that argument.
