Maybe as the electorate changes with more Latinos we'll see progress, but that's years in the making. We need the Dems to go big or go home now!
Why are you implying that with more Latinos there will be more Democrats? Some Latinos I've met were one of the biggest conservarives ever due to religion. Political affiliation has nothing to do with your heritage.

Let's them save face and bring down the dems. popularity for 2018.

A lot of Latinos are conservative, but the Republican Party has become so toxic for them.
Also, Latino millenials are not conservative..

I say give congress at least until October to come up with something. If panicked pro-DA folks start attaching to must pass bills now, I think it will cut into the bipartisan work that's being done. Or at least give an out for republicans to point to, to get out of making a DA deal. I think by mid October, we will see if people are working on a solution in good faith or dragging their feet. If it's the latter, then attach DA all the bills.
Why?
The fact is DreamAct is viable and has the votes - all of the sudden everyone has a 'bill' to offer. Thing is the deal was a continuing resolution in exchange for DreamAct.

No need to wait for a bill in October when there are bills in September. No one in the progressive movement really trusts Schumer or Pelosi because the 'wait and see' approach has failed over and over again.

What I think has the highest likelihood of passing is how they got the budget and hurricane funding passed. Worked with the president (never thought id ever write those words). Craft something the give DACA recipients relief while having something to wave around to Trump's base. Then he forces the issue on the republicans in the house.

1. Win for the dems, DACA is some form
2. Win for the president, signing some immigration change + enforcement
3. No loss for the repubs, say that they were forced to the bring it to the floor by the president while still being able to vote no.
Exactly. Everyone is pitching in with opinions and suggestions rn because the timeline is 6 months. Look at all the shit they left for September to pass lol. Ideally, they'd probably want to pass something in feb or even march.

I agree. I think in December we'll get DA in exchange for border security and something else.
