Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer says that he and other Democrats will secure an agreement to protect undocumented youths brought into the United States in their early childhood by the end of the year, with or without President Trump’s help.

I honestly wonder who they are hitting up in congress to get it done. Definitely isn't the leadership, so it has to be the moderates.

Assuming all democrats vote in favor (optimistic scenario in the senate, but they have been hanging together or they will hang separately), then we do need 12 republicans, question is: who?
Co sponsors:
1. Graham (R-SC)
2. Flake (R-AZ)
3. Murkowski (R-AK)
4. Gardner (R-CO)

That makes it 8 to go.
5. McCain (R-AZ), Lame duck, supported it in the past, doesn't like Trump, likely yea.
6. Hatch (R-UT), Supported/Sponsored in the past. Pushing his own Succeed act nonsense. Hopefully a yea when it comes to it.
7. Collins (R-ME), has been pretty moderate lately, hopefully a yea.
Possible yeas with border security:
8. Alaxander (R-TN)
9. Heller (R-NV), basically a lame duck at this point, ratings in NV are down the shitter
10. Corker (R-TN)
11. Hoeven (R-ND)
12. Rubio (R-FL) ?????
13. Cornyn (R-TX) ?????
14. Lankford (R-OK)
15. Tillis (R-NC)
16. Toomey (R-PA)
17. Ernst (R-IA)

House might be easier, we have all 194 democrats on board and about 5 republican co signers. Finding 17 more probably won't be that hard, especially if senate votes first.

Well I can't help but feel cynical too after all these days but Pelosi did actually want to pass DA, and does Schumer.

I feel like if we had anyone other than Reid leading the senate in 2010 things would roll differently.

With you. I am cautiously optimistic. We do know that at the very least the BRIDGE act will pass and they will not leave us hanging. Hoping for something better though.
