The problem is there is a March 6th deadline that everyone refers to. It’s only been roughly two months since Trump canceled the program. The timelines the republicans vs the democrats want is different. Also, both sides want to help dreamers with one side wanting a clean bill, or one with no interior enforcement and some border security. While the republicans agree to the same but some want a wall that trump is requiring in negotiations. And then some on the far right want cuts to legal immigration e verify etc. some of these people are a part of Ryan’s working daca group. That is why compromise is difficult unless democrats force their hand and agree to some border security to get more moderate republicans on board.

Very grim prospects for DACA now that Trump rules out immigration deal in year-end spending bill. - @mkraju

#Trump doesn't want to jeopardize HIS tax cut in any way even if it means reneging on #DACA promise to #Dems. Mb potential bargaining chip.

both sides playing hard ball, we will see come December. exciting!

Then you might as well start packing, buddy! Time to fall back on your contingency plans then.

Relax. Have some hope!

Democrats have to withhold their votes then; simple as that.
