He can but he won't, he knows the pendulum swings and imagine the horrible horrible things democrats would do? Universal Healthcare? Common sense immigration reform? Tax hikes on the wealthy and cuts on the POOR? Prohibition on for profit colleges?

In these days in politics everything is unpredictable. Bannon is coming for Mitch if he doesn't get his act together. He sits at 18% approval rating in Kentucky and is the country's least popular politician. At this point, people can't underestimate him on doing everything he can to keep his job. This isn't the Obama years anymore were he can pass blame on him, those days are over.

Honestly unless he turns into the conservative version of Santa Claus I don't see much future for him anyways.
