Some words have to be said in order to make lazy Congress do its job. This is the problem. Its the people who are misconstruing what he says like idiots like Ann Coulter who thought he would be "deporting all Dreamers and every immigrant." So...he is playing to his base BY ALLUDING US AS CRIMINALS..would be a more appropriate statement to make if you still insist on it. The two are to serve the same purpose and that is to mislead his idiotic radical base.
This is where we differ. I don't believe this is a grand plan by Trump to mislead his radical base in order to get something passed for us. I don't believe he cares about us at all.

And this is the part of the video I'm referring to. You can disagree he's alluding to us as criminals, but I think it's clear:

"demanding amensty as a condition for funding the government, holding our troop funding hostage and national security at risk....every Senator and Congressman has to make a choice do they want to protect American citizens or criminal aliens"

I think Trump is referring to the clean bill people and justifying his border security demands.

I do hate the fact he uses the word amnesty though. So, he is taking a shot at us; he doesn't even says he appreciates us or something.

But, like I said, his affection or lack thereof doesn't matter to me. I want the Dems and the GOP to strike a deal that he is willing to sign without endangering others.

Yeah, that's a good point. I forgot about that last sentence.

Hey, fuck him--so long as he signs something. This is why it is so important that Dems force things, or we might not get anything after the Dems lose leverage.

If he is doing a 180 now, who guarantees that the gov won't come after us if we all end up with nothing. This is what frustrates me about the younger dreamers demanding all or bust/clean dream act or bust. We will really be screwed if we end up with nothing.

I agree with you on him not really caring about us but I don’t think he meant us on the last part of the statement. I think he meant that Democrats want a clean bill with no border security. But that’s just wishful thinking on my part I think.

Not necessarily wishful thinking. I noticed your point in his speech, but that last statement that Swim pointed out is pretty f*cked up.

Trump is a wild card in this all...though there is a good chance he signs it.

DEMs do need to force things or we will be screwed. If the DEMs don't then they are as responsible for DREAMer deportations as the GOP. It's past the time for speeches, we need action.

Well, let's assume Congress passes a deal on spending, the DA, and border security. I really doubt he'd be stupid enough not to sign it.

Theory: Dems force the GOP to compromise and pass something. Trump comes across as a prick through out the whole process, favoring his base. Compromise reaches his desk and says; Democrats cornered us into this situation. To prevent a shutdown, I will sign this "bad" deal. shame on democrats. vote them out of office!

We win. He gets border security but points finger on the Dems for forcing his hand.

Any adviser worth their salt wouldn't allow any President whose party controls both chambers of Congress to go along with that.

We know that the Republican base is pretty agitated and they don't seem to be that ones that would stand for something like that. Not the talking heads on TV, not the Freedom caucus within the party, and certainly not the internet posters who would call him all sorts of things. And if there is anything that is guaranteed about Trump is that he likes to be liked.

Well, who knows then.

I just hope something gets passed.
