Put yourself in Dick’s position, you go to a meeting thinking you are going to discuss policy on an agreed, bi-partisan deal but once you get there trump tells you no deal and starts ranting his racist comments. Since the deal was lost at that point Dick probably decided to share what happened inside to expose the truth about why the deal didn’t get reached.
