I don't know. I still feel even if DEMs would have agreed to more wall money that Purdue & Cotton would have then pushed Trump to ask for something more.

I can only hope that this is a face-saving move for the White House. Ask for more money and a few other small concessions, and once it's agreed, they can justify their initial rejection of the deal.

If this is the case, then I hope the democrats concede and give an extra 1-2 billion. It's already a waste of money, but anything above that will be (1) too much of a waste of money and more importantly (2) politically untenable as it gets Trump closer to declaring victory in getting his border wall.

Admittedly, this is a best case scenario. In all likelyhood, this is, as Senator Graham so graciously put it, a shitshow. And it will likely leave us all with immigration blue balls.

I remember telling people how building a wall is useless and cost so much money. How I and everyone rejected that idea every day on social media. I said that from the POV of a futute USC.. It’s quiet now. My citizen friends don’t shout anymote. I don’t either. No one in my social circle is publicly resharing/retweeting how dumb Trump is. We are used to Trump, and we are used to how Congress works. We’ve got better things to worry about like our day job and family.

You know why? Most people don’t really care. It’s a “in the moment of heat” thing. We are well-passed Trump’s 100 days. We read about investigation and Trump’s ridiculous comments every day, well, guess what? Who is marching now huh?

So if we give them 10B, the voters will soon to forget. Even if they don’t forget, they will just keep cool ln election day. This is why our modern society never really progress

The sad truth is that the average liberal in this country cares a lot more about opposing the wall than legalizing the Dreamers. The wall is extremely publicized, it's become a symbol of anti-Trump sentiment. The wall represents everything these people hate about Trump.

Liberals would hate giving in on the wall even if it means we get citizenship. Dreamers don't mean much to them. Most have never known a Dreamer and don't really understand what we're going through. Just think of all the people who have been deported since Trump became president, they are forgotten about within minutes. The same thing will happen to us if the Dream Act doesn't pass.

But the wall? As long as Trump is president, liberals will hate the wall. It's a powerful political tool and the democrats won't wanna give in on it.
