To summarize it, both sides (Rs and Ds) want to protect Dreamers, but obviously some of the people that vote Republican do not want us here. With that being their base, Democrats plan to lump the spending bill, CHIP, military spending, Dream Act, and funding for Veterans together into one big thing that can help deflect some of the heat Republicans will get from their base. Basically allowing Republicans to say "Oh, well, you see I had no choice to vote on this bill" and that will keep their base happy and we hopefully get Dream Act. I hope it works.
Wow, I thought the same thing then I went this is too much house of cards probably not happening. Amazing that you confirm that this is all "theater" so republicans can go "we were forced by evil democrats to help illegals".

Turtle man kept crying how democrats are holding American hostages because they don't want to open the government. Yet these moron republicans were to busy trying to pass shit like the tax bill which affected millions of Americans negatively.

Republican wannabe Dreamers here to wake up and smell the coffee. Republican do not care about dreamers one bit. Trump could Become the man of the hour. He could Be that one piece that unites both sides together. He can have all the credit in the world for saving the government and the dreamers. But is he doing anything? No he's not

Very true. Well it all comes down to who caves first at this point. Hopefully Trumps childlike patience will result in him caving to the dems. The thing that scares me though is the poll going around that says Americans would rather reopen the government than pass the Dream act. Hopefully the dems ignore that and stand tall on Monday when the heat turns up. If they can get past Monday, I think that will be the turning point and I will feel confident in our chances.

Democrats could turn the CHIP founding against republicans. They could say they had to shut down the government so republicans can be forced into voting wether to fund it. They had months to do it but chose not to

There's also the thing where McCaskill wanted a bill to fund the troops during the shutdown. McConnell shot it down on live TV.

Fucking talking points write themselves.
