A bipartisan group of moderates met in the office of Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) later in the day to discuss a deal to reopen the government that could be presented to Republican and Democratic leaders.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who voted for the four-week stopgap measure on Friday and faces reelection in a state Trump carried by 42 points, told reporters that the group of moderates hope to present a plan to leaders on Sunday.

He said that as many as 18 or 19 senators may sign onto the proposal.

“We’re trying to see if we can talk to the leadership on both sides and tell them what we think is a path forward,” Manchin told Bloomberg News.

He said that immigration would have to be “part of the package.”

This article seems like Democrats are scared and reopening the Government, even if they have to do DACA next month.

Honestly if there is no relief, there is absolutely no reason to have kids. Why subject them to a world as cruel as this one?

Trump:
Great to see how hard Republicans are fighting for our Military and Safety at the Border. The Dems just want illegal immigrants to pour into our nation unchecked. If stalemate continues, Republicans should go to 51% (Nuclear Option) and vote on real, long term budget, no C.R.’s!

More than anything (e.g. chain migration, visa lottery, e-verify), Trump continues to emphasize the lack of border security and a wall. I wonder if that's because he would be okay with wall (alone) in exchange for DACA. Or maybe it's just an easy message to 'campaign' on.

As far as the nuclear option, changing the rules would benefit Democrats in the future. Mitch might do it though, and I think they can come up with 50 votes to pass the spending bill.

If they go the nuclear option, Trump is definitely getting impeached if the Dems take back the senate and House.

If this was an option all this time, why didn't they do it before?

Because Republicans won’t always be the majority.

This is a very interesting twist if the Republicans are going to follow Trump all the way down the rabbit hole by blowing up the filibuster.

Let's see if they are going to fall on the sword for this fool.

There would be no point of having the Senate if miniority party has no influence. I doubt they'll take this step.
