You should consult an attorney before filing an I-601A waiver and before departing the United States."
Much appreciated friend!
I will definitely talk to an attorney before I make any move.

Yes, that helps. You can argue almost anything. Get yourself a good lawyer, though.

I'm going to see a lawyer next week to start my i-601a process but I'm concerned since this administration is all about ending chain migrations and what not.
Do you guys think it's still worth it to go through with i601a process and try to AOS once it's approved?
What kind of visa do you have? If you came here on a visitors visa you can file AOS even if you overstay as long as the petitioner is a citizen. If the petitioner is LPR, you would need to file the 601a.

My mom is soon to be conditional permanent resident via her USC spouse. If my employer sponsors me, can I also try I601A? Do you think I have a shot? I’ve been helping her financially.

I came with my parent's B2 visa. I basically overstayed my visa for last 17 years.

You should have started your AOS process when you first got married. You have a straightforward case and will get your GC in no time. Start your process ASAP.

It's possible, you miss 100% of the shots if you don't try. This is the mindset I have for my I-601A.

I just want to remind everyone that I-601A can be cancelled by Trump anytime without Congress approval. If you wait, you may not have a chance in the future.

Unfortunately I'm not married. I have my i-130 petition through my parent as a child above age 21 category.
My sister adjust her status through her marriage with USC, so that's an option for me in the near future as well. But for now, I think i-601A seems like my only option...

Thanks for the advice. I totally agree with you. Do you know how long I601A application itself takes?

Also, Can someone please suggest good lawyers with expertise on I601A cases? Or how to find such lawyers?
