Sen. John Cornyn, second-ranked Republican in the chamber, called Schumer's decision to withdraw the offer "a step backward."

"If he wants a solution, that's a step backward," he told reporters.

Cornyn is such a subtle troll.

The White House is claiming Schumer never made the offer anyways. So which is it?

They are saying the offer never existed. Such liars. Reason the Republicans won politically after the brief shutdown are because they play dirty and they lie, cheat and steal. Democrats need to do the same cuz the “we go high when they go low” thing isn’t working for them.

He has to withdraw the offer to start negotiations again. Imagine what Republicans would offer if they start negotiations with Democrats putting the entire wall on the table while Republicans havent offered shit. In my opinion offering the wall was a mistake because Republicans now know what Democrats are willing to do, so they might push harder like asking for mandatory e-verify.

Why is anyone even mad at this. The wall was put on the table for him to accept it part of the spending bill. No fucking way he's getting that now. That what happens in business, deals change.

Schumer is probably saying right now:

"Oh hey guys, sorry I looked weak during the shutdown I purposely created to make it seem like I was helping out the dreamers, but now look, I'm a strong guy again, im taking the wall away from negotiations! See what I did there"

WH's Short on Fox about Schumer saying negotiating with Trump is like negotiating with Jell-O. "It seems like negotiating with Ldr Schumer is like negotiating with Jell-O. One day he's for the wall. One day he's against it.
