So is Marc Short admitting that the wall won't work?

Trump could end this tomorrow by agreeing to a narrow compromise DREAM Act + Border Security.

And if you were really serious about this, Trump - how about calling a meeting with Schumer & Pelosi (without Miller, Cotton, & Kelly and that includes not speaking with them after you've agreed to a deal so that they don't change your mind) and really negotiate instead of ranting on twitter?
I do agree with you. It’s just been upsetting seeing the Democrats cave in to Republicans so quickly over the shutdown and now it seems like they’ve given up until after the midterms.

Border security as in more agents, vehicles, equipment? They want the Wall + border security funding.

That literally makes no sense. So ending the DV lottery and chain migration will make people think twice about coming to the US illegally?! A wall and a visa entry/exit system won’t do anything except cause more illegal immigration. Ending the DV lottery, that’s been the root cause all along.

You know what would work better than that? Just round up all the brown people at some camps, maybe in Texas. That way they can find everybody that is illegal and deport them. Every time a new brown person pops up in the community, just send them to the camp. That should solve the illegal immigration issue.

Honestly Marc is probably trying to drive a narrative with the republican base that we need to reform other aspects of immigration to truly stop illegal border crossings. Makes no sense. But I think he’s energizing their base to push for other reforms. Currently the popular compromise is DACA fix + Border security.

I assumed by border security he was including the wall.

If Cotton & Miller thought they could get away with that, they would. Look at all the money private prisons are making on the increase in arrests of the undocumened population.

-Trump releases his layout plan
-Trump says he’s willing to negotiate
-Democrats go to MEDIA and shut it down COMPLETELY (No NEGOTIATIONS)

See the problem here? This was just a layout plan and it was negotiable. People started panicking like if it was the final draft and was already making its way to the senate. Rather than to negotiate, the Democrats went straight to the MEDIA, not the White House, but the MEDIA.

This is not how we’re going to get anything done if the Democrats try to negotiate through the MEDIA. It seems like to me the Democrats just want to win the public relations fight and their interests is NOT on fixing the issue, and their failed shutdown attempt was a also a poor excuse on their so called attempt to “save the Dreamers.”

I get it. This Trump layout plan is not the perfect bill. But if the President says “let’s negotiate”, the Democrats should have came to the table and met them halfway. But instead the Democrats ran to the media as fast as they could looking for a bailout.

-Durbin/Graham release their bipartisan immigration plan
-Democrats willing to negotiate (Schumer agrees to Trump's offer for more wall money during cheeseburger meeting with Trump)
-Repbulicans run to media and say this is a nonstarter

This is happening on both sides.
