Lmao holy shit no one here he mentioned passing clean da in months. You know he's a full trump supporter when he brining that up over and over

"Hey I am not trump or republican supporter but let me explain to you why trump and the republicans are 100% correct here and democrats are wrong and then bad guys"

No one is defending the proposal, you keep insinuating things I’m not saying. I’m saying is that both sides need to do a better job at communicating and coming into a proposal they can both agree. But Dreamers like you are already yelling the “sky is falling” out of a proposal that can be changed. Makes absolutely no sense to me. And I brought the clean DA discussion because you’re panicking about a NOT clean DA. What does that say to me? That you want a clean DA with no enforcement? You really think that has a chance of becoming a law? What type of bill are you proposing that you think has a real chance of passing BTW?

Swim, we honestly lost any position of strength we had at the negotiating table when Democrats gave in during the shutdown. We really aren't in a position to demand anything now. Are we to lobby Democrats to hold the line on bill elements? We know they are spineless.

We can only choose to end up with nothing. We all know what the GOP wants. We either take it or leave it. Democrats lost all bargaining leverage. They will not shut government down again, so it's your choice.

Now you are putting words in my mouth. I'm not panicking because I don't think this proposal is going anywhere. Trump doesn't help matters in bringing people to the table with his tweets. I haven't advocated for a clean DREAM Act so I don't know what you are talking about. Border Security without internal enforcement and some changes to family immigration + DREAM Act is doable. If Miller and Cotton weren't involved Durbin/Graham bill with a few amendments (such as more money for the wall) has a better shot at passing than this proposal.

We also know what the Democrats are willing to concede (and I don't think they will agree to this proposal, in fact they've come out and said they won't), so we are at an impasse. Unless the GOP tries to pass it on their own with the help of moderate Democrats (but will they - moderate GOP & DEms agree to massive cuts to legal immigration?) Honestly with renewals now allowed even for a short period of time, I would rather wait until 2018 to see what that brings than agree to the WH proposal. That's my opinion though and I don't have any sway on Congress so it doesn't really matter what I think.

Even if Democrats do regain control of Congress, they are too spineless to get a GOP minority to agree to anything. We all know that. That's one issue.

The other issue is Trump will still be President. I doubt a blue congressional wave would make him more flexible. Again, Democrats are spineless.

The third issue is the 2020 election. If Trump won the last election even with the audio of him grabbing women, he can sure as hell win the 2020 election.

Enough waiting, Swim. We are all tired of waiting.

That's my opinion, but I guess it really doesn't matter what I think either.

Hopefully 2018 brings a blue wave & impeachment! Yea it's probably wishful thinking, but it's keeping me going so...

I'm tired of waiting too, but I don't think the WH really believed the Dems would agree to their proposal, so until both sides agree to a narrow compromise, I think we will have to continue waiting.

lmfao impeachment??? Like Pence will be any better. lmfao Please meet with the people who cannot afford to wait in the shadows and give them that advice.

I am not going to argue with you. I'd rather just get people to call and push for a fix this year. Good luck.

As much as I believe Democrats are a weak party to not have held. If Trump is going with the take it or leave it method then the choice is simple for me. I'm leaving it. Nothing coming then so be it. No way I'm going to let them get 30 billion in ICE funding and end chain migration.
