Please bear with me, I'm in the process of filling out my AOS application, I have daca/ cleared EWI with AP. I'm slowly filling it out page by page. And I have a few question, please answer if you can.

Q22a) arrived in the us inspected and paroled as___?___
Q23c) status on form i-94 (example class of admission, or paroled if paroled) ?? //[to this question the i-94 class of admission says DAS do I just put that or do I have to put DAS/paroled]

Also question on part 2 # 3&4 ask receipt number for underlying petition? And priority date for underlying petition? (I'm thinking those 2 questions only apply if you filed a i130 prior to filing i485) should I just put N/a for not applicable.

Finally a very important question for anyone that worked without authorization/ before DACA how did how explain that on the application? And did anyone who has been through the process of AOS, have any issue with this question on the interview. Tia

Greetings All!

Yesterday I had my immigration interview, and was approved for Legal Permanent Residence.

About the interview,

It was in Downtown LA.

Actual interview was about exactly 1 hour. Additionally, we waited in the lobby for about 20 minutes, after our appointment time.

I dressed business casual, husband more casual.

Bring all originals you submitted with application, and bring a copy for all! Including copies for your DL and Passport (spouses too), and photos. He kept 3 original photos of ours without asking if he could!

After swearing us in... The interviewer started with some basics, like my full name, where I was born, my husband's personal info as well, for me to answer.

He asked for my I-693, but we didn't go over it?

He went through some questions mostly national security ones, but then the nitty gritty ones like the one that asks "Have you ever asked for relief of deportation", which answer is "Yes, through DACA". Then another nitty gritty one was have you ever presented false documentation, to which I will just say, admit to if you have, like to obtain a job or whatever.

He asked for our relationship details, who proposed where, how did the relationship develop, etc.

Asked to see some originals like my AP paperwork, our passports, and my last EAD.

He then wanted evidence of our relationship, including wedding photos and even photos of us together before we married! (I think he just wanted to keep us busy, while he finished his paperwork).

He stepped out to make a copy of our identifications, and returned with a printed paper congratulating me for my approval of Legal Permanent Residency. We thanked him, shook his hand and rejoice more on our way out!

____

Details of my process

EWI cleared with AP in AUG 2017
Married to USC
Submitted AOS 9/6 Expedited and received next day 9/7.
Interview 1/24 and now just waiting for card.

Thank you to this forum!

Congrats!! thanks for sharing

speaking of photos, are any other couples here that hate taking pictures in general? my wife and I almost never get pictures together, even on our own. we essentially dislike selfies. I worry this could be an issue during the interview (at least something we strongly have in common ) we have basic wedding photos and occasional photos with other couples / our group of friends, and a ton of our furry babies (cats)!

I’m the same way. I’m going on 4 years being married and a total of 10 years together with my wife. In the beginning we would take pictures like me with my daughter then my wife with my daughter just kuz we were scared of strangers asking them to take pictures. I don’t think it’ll matter since they would all be same scenery right?

But like 4 yeas we started taking pictures more often.

Hey guys,

First, I want to say that I love hearing everyone's story on this thread. I feel the positivity in everyone's post and all the warmth from anyone.

second, I am current working on my AOS and wanted to know if there are any Houstonians in here that may want to meet up and chat maybe help with the process of AOS (if you have already gone through it). I know its a bit out there but want to be as thorough as I can be.

Any encouragement or advise would be GREAT!

Thank you in advanced!
