Freedom Caucus may support the latest interim spending bill. But the problem is whether mbrs will back it if military funding is stripped out in the Senate & returned to the House. That could be a problem. Dems won't make up the difference & vote yes w/o a DACA deal

w/o DACA? Hmmmmmmmmmm I think I should trust this guy once, I mean he's from Fox News right?

C'mon, we know Dems will give up on Dreamers so they can just pass the damn spending bill for election...

Stopgap spending bill blows out defense sequestration caps to court the votes of conservative defense hawks. Otherwise, the interim bill wouldn't have the votes of conservatives. Dems will likely oppose because there is no deal on DACA. Dems are demanding a hike in non-defense $

With no obvious path on DACA, working out a deal to raise both defense & non-defense spending caps could be the key to avoiding a gov't shutdown this wk.

Interim House spending bill probably couldn't past muster in the Senate. 60 votes needed. Likely the Senate strips out House GOP's defense spending increase. But that could pose a problem in the House, unless there is a spending caps deal.

McConnell has set up a separate track to consider a defense appropriations pkg. Cloture vote needing 60 yeas planned for Wednesday. That could fail unless they have a caps deal.

House Rules Cmte now mtg to prep interim spending bill to avert a shutdown. Debate & vote later tonight
