Do you think this will affect immigration debate next week?

Latest from the House GOP whip's cheery media update: "At this point, we expect next votes in the House to occur at very roughly 3:00-6:00 a.m. However, there is a chance this timing window can move up if the Senate moves quickly."

No point staying up for this...just find out in the morning.

This is probably one of the most immature and unprofessional Congress I have ever seen in my lifetime. We all know that both sides do NOT want to shutdown the government again, so they need to stop playing these games and pass this bill and then move on to more important issues. The last shutdown was such a waste of time, we do not need another shut down and they know it. This is all about the blame game.

It looks like Paul can hold this up until 3 am and then it will get voted on in the house. So Mitch basically set himself up for this when he introduced the bill late Wednesday:

Two reasons: the Senate’s arcane rules essentially invite such mischief-making; and congressional leaders waited until the very last minute to unveil their deal, leaving them vulnerable to legislative glitches.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., filed a motion to end debate on the budget deal late Wednesday night. Under Senate rules, lawmakers must wait an “intervening day” before they can vote to cut off debate, unless they get an agreement from all 100 senators to speed up the clock.

Honestly if it shuts down again with Pelosi leverage, we still have an issue with the senate and the fact that people are more inclined to keep the govt open than for us to get something.

It doesn't look like the house will force a shutdown over immigration. They probably have enough votes to pass it.
