Not sure if it helps or hurts, everyone seems to have moved on to gun control.

while republicans are focused on their right to buy guns, Democrats should sneak a daca bill somewhere lol

Yup, as if gun control was going to pass with Republicans controlling all branches. What a waste of time. This feels like the most useless congress ever.

Besides from rich white guys and angry old white guys, I'm really not sure who Republicans represent anymore. Their response to the Florida shooting is going to give an even bigger boost to Democrat candidates in November. I'm willing to bet that many young citizens who might not be that motivated to vote for a pro-immigration candidate are angry as hell at the Republicans and how they are being mocked and will be coming out to vote in November.

They represent their voters... like they are supposed to. Just because 70% of the country supports something doesn't mean the same 70% voted. A very small percentage of people vote, and of those it's usually people that are at the most polarized ends of an issue. Don't blame the politicians that are voted over and over by the same people, blame the people that don't vote.

Can't we blame both? In particular I am shocked at the large Hispanic population in Texas that doesn't vote or votes Republican. California and Texas both have such large immigrant population but Texas still hasn't turned blue.

The people that are voting are part of the minority 30%, can't blame them for their views on immigration or w/e. They are citizens, they have the right to believe people who are in the country and are out of status must leave. Their representatives have an obligation to represent their views.

Call your senators and ask that they work on a permanent solution for all Dreamers when they return to DC next week.

Write to them and drop off your letters, email them, fax them. They are in town now.
