Right now it seems like Republicans are the only ones trying to work on immigration, while the Democrats are chilling. I know Democrats cant really do anything about it, but the media is making Republicans sound like they are the only ones working on something even if it is a bad bill. Democrats have to find a way to get into the negotiations.
Don't be surprised if they pass this bill in the House. They have moderate Republicans that will vote for this because it is a "compromise". Not to mention Trump is going to meet with House Republicans on Tuesday. They're still petrified of the base and what he is able to do by simply tweeting. So, even if they don't agree with everything in this bill, they will vote for this all in an effort not to be seen as anti-Trump. Look at Mark Sanford's loss.

As far as the Senate, I can't even tell. But if it passes the House, Mitch just may schedule a vote on this bill especially if Trump says this is what he wants. This is the tax bill all over again.

One thing we have got to stop doing is underestimating these morons.

I’m just curious but did the Dems say what in the bill kept them from supporting it?

"The President is throwing red meat to his base when he does that," she said. "He's using children, whether they're (DACA recipients) or whether they're little children at the border now, for a political purpose. It's shameful."

If the Democrats don’t vote for it though, wouldn’t they be seen as voting against a Dreamer solution, and could hurt them come elections? This is a double edge sword.

Damn. Okay. I feel very pessimistic about this bill passing. I doubt any Dems are going to get on board.

Also congrats on getting to 4k posts.

immigration will be a very big issue in the next coming months, from the 2000 migrant children separated at the border and the 800k DACA beneficiaries.

they need to find a way to fix these issues.

Senator Durbin is against this bill. Not sure if other Democrats will jump on board without Durbin's blessing.

Its dumb. If dems come up with a bill, republicans wont support. If republicans are the ones to come up with a bill, democrats wont support. Its retarded. Nothing is ever going to pass until either parties give in.
