Trump tweet: You cannot pass legislation on immigration whether it be for safety and security or any other reason including “heart,” without getting Dem votes..they don’t care about security and R’s do. Zero Dems voted to support the Goodlatte Bill. They won’t vote for anything!

Trump is right yet again, can't do anything without Dem votes! (Just like in 2010 when Dem's didn't vote for the Dream Act)

This really just proves they never planned on getting anything immigration related passing.
That's a generalization. I insist that moderate ones still do want to help.

You don't really know that for sure. Unlike Dems , Repubs are dirty and know how to play the game..For all we know this could of been part of their plan. Only reason they "tried" to help is midterms is coming up .

Well, the same reasoning can applied to Dems. Pelosi in December 2017,"we aren't going home until we get a deal on DACA."

I believe some moderates do want to help. If you don't agree, that's fine. I am not the one to generalize though. You are never going to get an immigration bill through the senate through all Dem votes, really. So, ALL republicans want to deport? All republicans do not want to help you?

My question to you is: how will this cycle be feasibly be broken in our favor?

You aren't thinking about it correctly. The only way anything happens is if it breaks in the POLITICIANS favor. If their goals happen to align with ours then it passes. We are a side affect, we don't actually matter to them.
