I knew it smh. Only reason the discharge petition came up is because Midterms are near. They never cared. No one is going to help us this year. Not Dems and absolutely NOT REPUBS.

My odds for immigration relief happening:

Clean DreamAct in 2018/2019. Probability: <1%.
Mechanism: Democrats take the House in the fall (85% probability) and pass a symbolic Dream Act approval in February/March 2019. Senate is still GOP controlled (>99% probability) and the bill is never brought to a vote.

Goodlatte 3.0 in October 2018. Probability: ~10%
The bill is attached to the budget once the continuing resolution expires on October 1st, 2018. We get EADs for a few years at a cost of shutting out all other immigrants. Yay.

Constitutionality of DACA is upheld by SCOTUS; DOJ decides to not cancel DACA after all. Probability: <1%
This is a long shot. SCOTUS could review the order rescinding DACA and say that according to a strict reading of current laws the Attorney General does have the power to grant people temporary protected status. Furthermore, the court could rule that according to the Administrative Procedures Act the rescission was capricious and arbitrary so DACA can't be cancelled just by claiming that it's unconstitutional. Trump and Sessions, in order to save face and appear magnanimous let DACA stay as is.

Discharge Petition 2.0. Probability: <1%
Moderate GOP members and the entire house democratic caucus get together and pass the DREAM Act. Bill is never brought up in the senate.

Basically.

I'm going on a trip on friday and will be back in two weeks. Hopefully Hanen will not have ruled on anything yet since I'm going to do a Hail Mary 15-month early DACA renewal.

When will Daca fate be decided? I expire in March 2019. Trying to delay as much as possible.

Probably never.

The prudent thing is to start saving 100% so that you have something to fall back on.

I expire March as well, sent it in March 2018, I'd send my renewal, since they keep your stuff until your 150 are approaching
