Hey guys I’m trying to prepare myself for the interview and I have some questions.
My wife and I got married last year and didn’t filed taxes together this year. Will that be a problem?

I really don’t have any more proof of joint/assets. We lived together before we got married and had the lease of the apartment together along with bills but we sent that in the original app.
I bought a car with my wife as co-signer, she’s in the insurance too but I also sent that in the original app.
She has a small loan with me as co-signer. Again I sent it on the original app.
We tried to buy a house but they didn’t let me be on the lon because I wasn’t a resident. So we got the house on her name but the utility bills are under my name with her also listed on them.

We respect each other finances so we don’t have any joint accounts. We just pay our half of the house bills and we do as we please with our money.

We have separate health insurances because it’s a lot cheaper for both of us that way. Plus her job pays for her insurance.

I’m not sure what else to include for joint assets since we really haven’t bought anything else since then.

Hey guys,

Quick question. USCIS has updated some of their fees, so I wanted to verify that I have the right information.

(1) I-485 is $1,140
(1) I-130 is $575

Do we pay anything for I-765 and I-131?

Hi everyone,

I recently got married to my USC fiancé. I have been thinking of applying for AOS for months but needed clarification/ guidance on something. My apologies if this question has been asked before. I spoke to two different lawyers about my application. One said we needed to attach all the support proving ours is a bonafide marriage with the application. (Pictures, wedding invitations, joint bills, character statements from friends etc.). Another lawyer I spoke to said we only attach what is requested as part of the application (birth certificates, tax documents etc) and save all of the bonafide marriage support for the interview. This doesn’t seem right to me. Could you guys, who have gone through this process, she’d some light on this and advise what’s the correct thing to do?

Self-filing for AOS.

Just wanted to clarify some things before sending everything in.
Along with all the supplemental documents, the forms I am submitting are:

I-485
I-130 and I-130a
I-765
I-131
I-693
I-G25a for husband and I
I-864

..phew.

My question is - for form I-485, under "General eligibility and inadmissibility grounds," one of the questions is "Have you EVER violated the terms or conditions of your nonimmigrant status?"

I was unsure if the answer to that will be YES or NO. My parents brought me here under B1/B2 visitor visa when I was 5. We then transitioned to a L1/L2 business visa which was initially renewed but then denied extension the following year. So, I overstayed unlawfully for about 15 years until DACA came around in 2012. Ever since DACA, I haven't violated any laws and kept up with my renewals. I also traveled several times with DACA Advance parole (while it was around).
In that case, should I answer YES or NO to that question?

Also, I'm assuming I don't need to file a 245(i) since I've traveled and entered the country with AP before applying for AOS?

Last question, forms I-130 and I-130a that I found on the USCIS website both have an expiration of 7/31/18 and I can't seem to find any updated forms :/ Should I just file the ones they have on there?

Thank you in advance!!
You answer YES to that question concerning the violation.

If no forms exist, use ones on the site...nothing more can be done about that.

That is a lot of joint proof. They will still ask questions why no jointly file.

No, You don't pay for I-765 nor the I-131. Those are included with the I-485 fee.

You are missing the $85 dollar biometric fee.....

Depends on what sort of interview you want in the end.

Sending everything may result in more questions or RFE, but an easier interview. While sending minimal maybe more favorable time wise, but result in an RFE and harder interview.

The I-131 fee is also $535 not $575.

And also just for FYI for everyone, the medical exam I-693 changed some rules in the past few months. It now has to be done within 60 days of submission, and skin test for TB is no longer valid, you must get the blood test for TB.

When your filing I-485 then you don't have to pay for I-765 and I-131, its free.
