A lot of people here think that DACA has to be tied to government funding since it's a must past bill or else there's no chance that congress will take it up. If they don't tie it to government funding, then 2020 is probably the most likely outcome.

However, if the supreme court jumps in before that which is expected in 2019, things could change before that.

How do we know that SC will jump in during summer?

I am also worried SC will side with the appeal court. We are fucked then.

The reason a temporary fix has to be tied to funding is because four DACA bills were put to a vote in the Senate and they all failed. Neither side is willing to fix this issue permanently therefore there has to be some type of stopgap before the Supreme Court rules or before Trump finds other ways to kill the program for good.

I’m addition, 2020 isn’t a done deal for the Democrats, even though they won back the House they still don’t have a strong presidential candidate, and any Democratic victory is not certain. If we go into 2020 without so many unanswered questions then we will most likely head into 2024 with the same unanswered questions.

As crazy as people think Trump may be, he could very well be re-elected and we will be back to square one with absolutely NOTHING. At the end of the day what Americans care about is putting food in their table, having jobs, saving money, a good economy, areas that Trump has shown he is strong in.

They could care less about social issues like immigration, gay marriage, abortion, etc. So let’s not take 2020 for granted and think it’s already in the bag just because Trump has said a couple “mean things”.
