The vast majority of the "4000" people show up in airports & international airports. Airport security should be top priority if you care about terrorists coming into the country right? Now, go look and see if the TSA is funded right now. Go look and see if CBP is funded right now.

If you use your logic on gun violence, you're saying "1 death is too many, let's take away all guns so there will be no more gun deaths." When you say this, is it a left or right leaning bias?

Also, let's look at the price. 6 people for 5.7 billion. That's 0.95 billion dollars per person. To stop all 4000 people this year would cost the US 3800 billion dollars or 3.8 trillion. The entire budget for 2018 was ~4 trillion. A wall is no good if no one is around to catch people crossing, all they need is a $20 ladder.

Six potential terrorists. Sounds like they could have done incredible damage. I see your point. However, lets try to see it from their point of view. Maybe exaggerating the figure is an appropriate tactic to make the other side compromise! That southern border really is an issue. We can't just let random caravans come in here like it's a garden. It's high time people on the far left come a little bit to the right and understand the dilemma.

Except you are never going to 100% stop terrorist coming in. They will find a way, and often come in legally (so wall won't stop those people).

Changing it from 6 people to 11 is an exaggeration. Their claim is a LIE, and the fact you are willing to give them a pass for that is disappointing.

This is all distraction and a waste of time, money when there are sooooo many other things that need to be fixed and that the money could go towards.

You're calling 6 to 4000 an exaggeration? I really hope you don't live your daily life that way. If you owe the bank $40k, go to a bank teller and say "you know, you're exaggerating my debt, here's $60 now take away the debt on my account." Post the results or even better, a video. If you post a video I'll even give you $4000 if you do.

By $4000 I actually mean $6, I just exaggerated a little.

Edit: Actually this may be easier. Make a post on craiglist and advertise you're selling this 3500 sq ft house.

When people show up, take them to this:

Provide the video of people's reactions and I'll give you $4000 exaggerated dollars.

He's going to declare a national emergency and circumvent Congress. There's no way he's giving us anything now.

Today, it's not that easy to come to America legally as you think. After 9/11, they've made shit so strict and I'd say they've done a phenomenal job at keeping America safe. All I am saying is, its time people on both sides try to reconcile and understand where the other side is coming from. The far right needs to understand that a comprehensive solution is needed and those on the far left need to come to terms that complete open borders is not the way to go and we can't just let every damn caravan come in here like they're taking a stroll in the park.

You've got to understand the concept called materiality. You're comparing an entire nation to my personal financial/bank situation. Makes no sense.

Pay close attention to what this administration is doing...

1. Weekend talks with Democrats were futile. Dems there frustrated that Rs didn't have budget numbers ready and OMB had to rush to compile them. Mtgs. instead focused on admin's bleak presentation on border situation

2. POTUS, encouraged by friends on right, increasingly sees a nat'l emergency declaration as a way to rattle empowered Dems and show his core voters he's going to the brink for wall

3. Instead of trying to negotiate to reopen the gov't with a wall-less bill, the admin spent Monday continuing to make its case of a border crisis to reporters and need for $5.7B. VP and @SecNielsen briefed. Laying foundation ahead of POTUS's Tues. speech to nation.

4. My top Trump admin sources say they see little downside to going "all out" now on the wall. Rallies their voters, tests Dems' mettle, and gives POTUS a chance to be seen as fighting on his signature issue ahead of a likely rough year of probes and battles w/ House Dems

5. The only caveat to all of this is that WH knows GOP holding together is critical. That's why POTUS and VP are phoning mbrs. That's in part why there is a speech to nation and trip to border. Direct msg to skittish Rs that this is the line, this is a crisis, so hold on tight.

6. While VP Pence's pitch today signaled the admin's possible action, so did voices on right who have POTUS's ear. Trump confidant Sean Hannity said, “I’m guessing he’s going to declare a national emergency."

What a mess...I think our chances of getting something are lower than before.

He’s going to get sued like always . I’m not even worried about him going that route.

Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano on Monday expressed skepticism over President Trump's legal standing to declare a national emergency to direct the construction of his desired wall along the southern border.

“The president has valid emergency authorities in a time of a true emergency, but he can’t spend money and he can’t take property unless the Congress is authorized it. That’s directly from the Constitution," Napolitano told Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum on "The Story."
