==================
House Democrats aren’t expecting protections for young undocumented immigrants to be included in a border security package that will be negotiated to avert another government shutdown.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told reporters on Tuesday that a deal likely won’t include protections for recipients of the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals program, which helps young undocumented immigrants stay in the country. Any deal also won’t address holders of Temporary Protected Status, a designation given to some migrants that shields them from deportation.

But the Maryland Democrat plans to bring both a bill protecting DACA and TPS recipients to the floor in the “near future,” he added.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), however, suggested Tuesday that Republicans would support a final agreement that included a legal fix for the tens of thousands of Dreamers who could face deportation.

lmfao right?

I think Dems want Trump to get desperate enough to offer something permanent without offering to many concessions.

What Could Go Wrong? Lindsey Graham proposes to attach a border/DACA deal to the DEBT LIMIT after having dinner with Trump (via @StevenTDennis).

He had lunch with trump last night

He just doesn't care if a clean bill has a chance to become law. He just want to be able to con immigrant activist and say he is working hard for DACA. They already made up their mind about using for 2020.

I'm so confused. So many conflicting statements.

for the group that does not want to include DACA or TPS relief, what will they want? Or is the assumption that they will give border security funding and not border wall funding?

He is not. He is being realistic and calculative. Even though Trump wasted his political capital over the shutdown, he has been very against giving citizenship or legalization to us for the wall during the shutdown. Additionally, the wall became a political symbol for not just Republicans but also Democrats, unfortunately. Unless Trump and Republicans are willing to offer a deal for us first, any deal will be elusive.

Dems are playing hardball. They want Trump too offer a good deal. As soon as they start mentioning Daca, his bitch ass starts demanding too much.

That is very likely. The wall became a symbol for Democrats' resistance to Trump. So, Democrats are as irrational as Republicans when it comes to the wall at this point.
